About Five Plus Six


FIVE PLUS SIX is a Knoxville, TN based jazz band that adds a distinctly modern twist to classic material by Duke Ellington, Billy Strayhorn, Thelonious Monk and others. This eleven piece outfit is led by trumpeter Vance Thompson and features internationally recognized performers such as tenor saxophonist Gregory Tardy and pianist Keith Brown. The group’s live shows combine deep grooves, sparkling ensemble work, clever arrangements and heart-stopping solos to produce a truly memorable experience that sizzles with excitement from beginning to end.
